SASS - SCREENING ASSESSMENT SUPPORT SERVICES

Screening Assessment Support Services (SASS) provide crisis assessment to determine the need for psychiatric hospitalization, as well as services to assist children experiencing severe emotional and behavioral problems. Services are provided to children and adolescents.

SERVICE GOALS
  • Determine Need for Inpatient Psychiatric Care

  • Stabilize Children Experiencing Severe

  •  Emotional/Behavioral Problems

SERVICES PROVIDED
  • Crisis Assessment to Determine Need for Psychiatric Hospitalization

  • Arrangement for and Monitoring of Inpatient Psychiatric Admission

  • Deflection Services, Including Therapy and Counseling Services

  • Service Coordination and Linkage

WHO IS ELIGIBLE
FOR SERVICES
Children and adolescents with permission of their legal guardian.
COST OF SERVICES Fees for SASS services are paid by Medicaid or are established on a sliding fee scale (based upon family income).

SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES

Quincy School for the Handicapped (QSFTH) provides educational services to children who are severely to profoundly mentally retarded and who have physical handicaps and/or complex medical problems.

  • Assist Children to Reach their Educational Potential
  • Assist Children to Reach their Developmental Potential
SERVICES PROVIDED
  • Special Education Services
  • Self Help Skills Development
  • Nursing Services, as Needed
WHO IS ELIGIBLE
FOR SERVICES
Children between the ages of three and twenty-one years who have a severe developmental disability and who are referred by the Special Education District in which they reside.
COST OF SERVICES Tuition for the Quincy School for the Handicapped is paid by the school district in which the child resides.  Parents are expected to pay the local rate for hot lunch.
