A Consumer Success Story Doug* came to
the Transitions' group home at 2015 Chestnut from
Today, Doug continues to reside at the group home.
While his progress has been slow, it has been consistent. Staff learned
that when Doug was encouraged to participate in his habilitation plan and was
allowed to make decisions for himself, he was more in control of his behavior.
Thus, his participation in decision making was encouraged by staff.
Doug recently was seen by his physician.
The physician commented on how much Doug had matured over the past nine
years. He noticed that Doug was much
more relaxed and more in control of his temper.
